German window and door hardware — tilt-and-turn, sliding and security systems
Roto Frank is a German manufacturer of window and door hardware. They do not make windows — they make the mechanisms inside them, and their hardware is fitted by a large number of European window system manufacturers.
This matters more than it sounds. On a tilt-and-turn window, the hardware is the window: it carries the sash weight, it drives the locking points around the frame, and it decides whether the unit tilts, swings, or jams. Two windows with identical frames and glass can perform very differently depending on whose hardware is inside.
Roto hardware is specified where a window needs to do more than open. Multipoint locking, controlled tilt ventilation, restricted opening for child safety, and heavy sliding panels are all hardware problems rather than frame problems.
Every window and door we sell falls into one of three product lines — budget, standard, premium — sorted by whose components are in it. Roto is the hardware that most often makes a tilt-and-turn window standard line: it carries the sash, drives the locking points and controls the tilt, and it is stocked for decades so the window can be serviced. Roto’s concealed hinges, heavy-duty gearing for sashes over 130 kg, and its restrictor and security ranges are premium-line options. It is fitted on the uPVC and aluminium systems we install where the system house specifies it.
We fabricate and install windows with Roto hardware, adjust and service Roto gearing on existing tilt-and-turn windows, and replace worn parts — a sash that drops, a handle that no longer tilts, a lock that binds — on European windows across the city, whoever installed them. On a building with hundreds of tilt-and-turn units, a Roto service visit once every few years keeps every window operating as installed.
We supply Roto hardware with our fabricated units and as replacement parts to building managers and contractors; send the system name and photographs of the handle and the hinge side.

Usually yes: the gearing needs adjustment or a worn part replaced. Send a photograph of the handle and the hinge side and the window brand if known.
Its standard ranges are what make a window standard line; concealed hinges, heavy-duty gearing and security ranges are premium options.
